I performed the Plasma 6 update on my laptop a while ago, having troubles with the upgrade (black screen with only a cursor, application entries missing, task list not working). I got these eventually resolved by rolling back and reinstalling packages and rerunning usysconf run -f
. However, I notice that on every boot a message about colord.service
failing gets output three times.
Failed to start colord.service - Manage, Install and Generate Color Profiles
The systemctl status command outputs this:
systemd[1]: Starting colord.service - Manage, Install and Generate Color Profiles...
colord[954]: CdMain: failed to load mapping database: Can't open database: unable to open database file
systemd[1]: colord.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
systemd[1]: colord.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
systemd[1]: Failed to start colord.service - Manage, Install and Generate Color Profiles.
Running colord with verbose mode outputs this:
/usr/lib64/colord/colord --verbose
Verbose debugging enabled (on console 1)
CdMappingDb: trying to open database '/var/lib/colord/mapping.db'
CdMain: failed to load mapping database: Can't open database: unable to open database file
And indeed, there isn't such file in /var/lib/colord/. I've tried reinstalling colord and colord-kde and it looks to me this file isn't shipped (nor supposed to be shipped) with the packages. So how do I get the file regenerated?
