Neural Amp Modeler plugin in Ardour

I've been trying for awhile to get this plugin to work in Ardour (doesn't work in Audacity either) and was wondering if anyone else has got it to work. There's gotta be some other Solus guitarists out here right?

I've built it like three times, tried in ~/.lv2 as well as /usr/lib/lv2, with and without the GUI, but every time I try to load it in Ardour is says in the log that it failed to instantiate the plugin with no other error messages. Any insight much appreciated. I've tried guitarix but the amp plugins have been pretty lackluster for me, so really hoping I can get this to work.

I've been using that lv2 version of NAM in Ardour for couple of months now. Not sure I can be of any significant help though as everything has been working flawlessly for me.

Basically just installed system.devel component, built the package following instructions in its readme, copied neural_amp_modeler.lv2 from the build directory to my home .lv2 dir and that's it.

Is your system completely up to date? Any error or warning during the build process? Have you tried the flatpak version of Ardour if that, by any chance, produces a different result? Maybe try a fresh Solus install and/or a different distro in VM to see if you can reproduce the behaviour.

Also, new versions of Guitarix include the NAM plugin now – not in Solus repos yet though, maybe you could request a packge update if you're interested in that. Honestly I didn't bother doing so because for me personally the ui/ux of Guitarix is just a no go, I've tried, really, but no, sorry... 🙃 😅

Well what do you know. I recompiled this morning and it just worked. I did omit the optimization flag this time though. I have also tried to like guitarix a few times but just found that it took forever to dial in good results, and not very easy to use.

Thanks for the sanity check. I was all up to date and everything, and had previously tried compiling normally without the flag, so not sure why it worked this time, but I'm not complaining haha.

Any favorite amp models you can recommend/other tips to get a good sound?
