I found that ping causes some errors in journalctl

This is what I get if I try to ping a local host by name (same for normal user and root):

palto42 , yes, the name resolution is not working either, but I consider this as a consequence of a deeper problem with the latest kernel. I might be wrong ofc, but looks like many people from different distros are complaining about 6.8 and the backported lts versions for all kind of reasons - gpu drivers, nic drivers and etc...

presianbg Name resolution works for other commands like ssh or curlin my case, so there seems to be something specific to ping.

Booting previous kernel 6.6.26-283.current also fixes the issue with ping (like mentioned for LTS kernel above).

Hi Everyone !
As a recent user of SOLUS following a number of mishaps with KDE NEON, I carried out the latest update last night.
This morning, I've discovered several problems, which I'll list below :

1- the FERDIUM application, which displays all email, SMS, What'sApp, etc. accounts in a single tabbed window, no longer works. It's cumbersome because I have to connect to all my accounts one after the other to see all my messages.

2- CHROMIUM seems to be unable to access the Internet, even though there is no problem with FIREFOX. The only message available on the welcome screen is: "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET".

3- JDOWNLOADER, an application that lets you organize your downloads, has had a peculiarity since this morning: not only does it no longer download anything, it also no longer recognizes the links I copy/paste !

Could you please help me solve these issues, as I can't see any way out?

cristobal-angel I propose running each program in the terminal and seeing what it outputs.

cristobal-angel your snap Chromium is updated? run update. Something in the solus update affected how your sandboxed browser behaves in interesting. I wonder if a service got disabled (systemctl)? It's saying the .conf file is fubard, it's saying the .so is fubard. Its saying in the middle to append the -flag in the conf file?
I wonder if the flatpak is the answer? Don't we have a chromium in repo? I forgot.
You have rebooted Solus since update, right?

I ran the update as mentioned and rebooted. After verification, I am very pleased to confirm that FERDIUM, CHROMIUM & JDOWNLOADER2 are now working perfectly.

WhiteWolf That's a Chromium issue I believe. They had a Wayland rendering issue in v124 I think. I believe you can adjust the Chromium flags to work around it, but I don't know if Brave exposes those

That's good to know. Wayland on Plasma 6 here as well. Maybe the OP's problem has to do with his DE. He didn't mention which one he was using, or whether it's up-to-date.
