About switching graphics card on notebooks

Can I ask, please, if there is a known way to switch from intel integrated graphics to amd discrete graphics? If this thread is found not useful please delete. Thank you very much for the help you can give fine people of Solus Forum.

just install your amd driver via the "Hardware drivers" tool (also called Doflicky) -> Reboot -> you're on your descrete gpu.

Uninstall the amd driver via "Hardware drivers" tool -> Reboot -> you're on your integrated graphics again.

That's it. Check current status in terminal: linux-driver-management status

Doflicky doesn't give any proprietary hardware driver option, in my case; thanks everyone for the answers! I really believe I'm on a Proprietary Hardware as well. Too Bad. Thanks Again!

The discrete gravis card exact model is Radeon HD 6490M.

albj Ahh OK. Both drivers are open source so they're both loaded. You'll need to blacklist one on not to disable it.

What I've attempted is: create a randomly named .conf file with written blacklist i915 first in /etc/modules-load.d/ and in the second attempt in /etc/modprobe.d/

albj I've not had much experience in dual graphics but to me it says it won't boot the AMD card. Reboot and see which drivers are in use.
