Good news for anyone who has encountered an error when installing Solus 4.5 alongside another operating system, due to a smaller EFI partition! We are updating Calamares to version 3.3.5. As you can see from the pull request, the new EFI size requirement is:
- Set recommended EFI partition size to 1GiB and minimum size to 500MiB
This means that if your EFI partition is 512MB or greater, you will be able to install Solus alongside another operating system without issue. (Of course, letting the installer use the whole disk did and will continue to work without the error).
The Solus Team will be testing the updated installer extensively before releasing it with Solus 4.6. As usual, the Release Testers, Beta and Crew tiers of our OpenCollective will get access to the release candidate ISOs and be able to test this out as well. We will let our backers know when the RC ISOs are ready.
