Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on. I've recently attempted to install solus budgie on my computer. However, im consistently getting stuck on the boot screen. Either the screen does load past the start up logo, or it goes into a system loading screen but then gets stuck ( i cant seem to be able to attach a photo ). I have a rog asus computer with Nvidia graphics and Intel cpu. Would anyone have any advice?

Hit spacebar repeatedly during boot, so you get into the Solus boot menu. Then on the "Solus 4.5" option press e, add nomodeset to boot parameters and try to boot.

do you have secure boot enabled?

So you can't even boot into the live environment, or the installation completed and now it doesn't boot from disk?

So, I've tried it with secure boot and without. I'm able to get past the authentication on secure boot though.

For clarity, I'm able to load into the installer on my USB drive via the "Nvidia compatible mode" ( whatever that means ). Its getting stuck when I'm trying the boot from the ssd that I've installed it on.

... so, that worked. I'm I going to have to do that every time I reboot my system?

Tilt You need to install the proprietary drivers for your NVIDIA GPU. You can use the "Hardware Drivers" utility to find the right driver for your system.

Thank you guys, this worked! I would have literally never figured that out on my own.
