Changing the Login Thema after Reboot.

I am using Sous Budgie for a while. It runs like a charm! Design great. But one thing reminds me of my Ubuntu times. The old login screen layout after the reboot. It looks a bit old-fashioned. Is it a way to change not only the background during log in, but also the Thema - to get exactly the same layout as when the coputer is locked? The it would be perfect.

check ur current setting in
$ /var/lib/AccountsService/users/cat <username>
then
$ /etc/lightdm/cat lightdm.conf

FYI :
[SeatDefaults] is deprecated you should use [Seat:*]

[deleted] Thanks. Unfortunately no, it changes some basic login settings like background, but not the layout of the login page.

I am having the same issue, I'd really like the login box to be central, but I can't get it to shift over.

What you're looking for is a new display manager then. Solus uses LightDM by default (just like Ubuntu and many other distros. It's a standalone project) but other DMs are offered.
AFAIK we have GDM and SDDM in the repos. How well they work with Budgie, or can they be installed next to LightDM, I dunno the answer to those questions.

oh, forgot to mention also: SDDM is KDE's default DM and GDM is GNOME's, so they may pull some components that are default in those desktops (or generally integrate better with them). I haven't checked the dependency tree of them but you can do so with eopkg info.

hyphens I installed SDDM package from repo and now when I reboot the first thing I see is a big onscreen keyboard. ;-) I can type the password in and then I get to the standard SDDM Screen. How can I get rid of the monster keyboard?

And I installed "sddm-kcm" to configure the login manager. But how to start the configuration?

OK, I will check them in the evening, But I personally would like to get it more minimalistic like the whole budgie desktop - for example by installig a different the "Slim" Login Manager . Is there a way to install it on Budgie? Look here:

Seems like what you are looking for is a different greeter https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LightDM#Greeter I installed the lightdm-gtk-greeter with lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings and while i got it to change the login prompt position i didnt delve much deeper since i got weird errors when trying to save my config with the settings app:

[deleted] At a quick glance it looks like it can't handle the fact that /etc/lightdm folder already exists. If this directory can be removed safely (ie you have no config data in it) you should be able to re-try.

I managed to install LightDM for the login screen, but how can I get the LightDM for the lock screen? Is it possible?
Or is it at all possible to get the same login and lock screen?

Or is it at least a way to give the lock screen a dark theme, witout changing the overall theme to dark?
