  • Lost Plank dots in transparent theme in Budgie

had 'em last week. gone now. this happened to me twice in xfce but never in budgie.
to be fair to solus I run at a warm 3800 temperature. but it's a dark blue winter theme b/g. and I could always see dots clearly until last week.
these dots are present at 6500 temp. harder to see at 4500. invisible at 3800 where before they were not.

So I want to fix it myself. Just have one single question.

which one of these is the active application dot so I can bump it up?
@SethStorm666 -- gratuitously adding your name to my post since you actually have shown how to edit dock.theme in user/share/plank/etc in one of your posts.

can anybody help me brighten the active app dots? thank you

The dots color changes to fit the icon theme color scheme. So if there's a lot of blue in your icon theme the dots will be blue. I'm afraid there's no string(s) to set the color manually without re-writting the codes.

    SethStorm666 wow thanks for replying.
I don't want to change the dot color as much as I want it to be lit up more (brighter). I thought that would be in 'hue' or 'glow' to make it brighter.

Icon theme is repo basic Korla. Not particularly blue-dominated as I see orange FF, keepassxc green, software center, etc.

In fact the only place I see an icon dot with a pulse is over keepassxc....

So are you saying there is no way to make the dots brighter?
    thanks

    edit: changed mind, no edits

actually in 'default' when the black bar ties itself to the icons I get a faint dot. Ugly. Ironically not in Matte or GTK in their black bars. Or in transparency mode, anymore. Constant weirdness with plank this year.

I don't believe it's my background pic. I had dots last week, same pic, clearly with 3800 temp. This happened twice in XFCE, only one time I was able to solve it myself (change monitor refresh rate), the other time it was a known problem and an update took care of it.

I haven't experienced yet this weirdness in plank/endeavour (variation of the same budgie theme pack/dark blue background) so I brought that dock.theme file to my budgie desktop and will compare it to the dock.theme in solus tomorrow or when I have time down the road.

edit: added this for clarity "Or in transparency mode, anymore"

brent Was messing around with lighter background and transparent dock
think whats happening dots are there but just off screen so thats why when you changed resolution
      it helped.
When I changed to transparent my dots where just almost off screen barely could see them.
I havent had any trouble with it in budgie at all. (but not running transparent)

You can move those dots think in the other thread I said something about that
I am getting old I have to go back and look anymore have to write it down..lol (to much on my mind)
      Just info

Note; My transparent theme never adjusted dots like I did in the one I am using so makes sense
I know what you mean tho always looking at dots to see what open and stuff can see how it would be pits without them.

Axios it could be a visibility thing. My only two options are 75 or 60 refresh rate and either both works or one works, or neither works. Older hardware but the Acer monitor is new. I tried all the adjustments in the Acer.

Of the 4 settings in Plank the only one I really want is unattainable. That figures🙁.

The weird thing is the only time the dots show up is if I change the background to black/dark, and not for any other color. That's really wrong right there. edit: and this is new behavior.

Will keep tinkering. thanks for your input.
