Thought I might like this app but

am I missing an .so file? pray tell. It won't launch. I don't plan on rebooting til tomorrow so will get back to this one. If anyone knows anything let me know. I thought that app would be a good fit for me.

kinda pointless to ask though, since 3P page going bye-bye soon, but asking all the same. thanks.
edit: punct.

Hmm, it's kinda silly but scrivener seems to require freetype2-devel
Looking into it.

brent Seems like gnome-maps requires librest as a runtime dependency

Can't reproduce the mendeleydesktop problem here. Do you get an error message for that?

Staudey I installed in Budgie for giggles. I'm looking for a bar in Oslo.πŸ™‚

       $ gnome-maps
libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1

libEGL warning: MESA-LOADER: failed to retrieve device information

libEGL warning: failed to get driver name for fd -1

      (org.gnome.Maps:5320): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 14:39:22.020: Gjs_PlaceViewImage 0x560bb5efd690 reports a minimum height of 0, but minimum height for width of 1048576 is 722352. Expect overlapping widgets.

      (org.gnome.Maps:5320): Gtk-WARNING **: 14:39:43.516: Broken accounting of active state for widget 0x560bb62e1dc0(ShumateMap)

but these ^^^^ all harmless. gnome-mapsruns fine.
I have not returned to XFCE today to see if a reboot helped. That's I asked if it's possible these kinds of things are related to a Beta still ironing out kinks?
mendeleydesktop--will try again in xfce tomorrow and get you that error. thanks for getting back.

No, the gnome-maps thing is an issue with the package itself (missing dependency). It's just that e.g. Budgie and GNOME don't have that issue because they include the missing dependency in a standard install, while XFCE doesn't.

The scrivener thing was a also a packaging oopsie and not XFCE's fault.

mendeleydesktop I suspect will turn out the same way.

edit: gnome-maps issue already fixed in unstable btw, but you can install librest to fix it before the sync, if you need that app right now.

from where I'm sitting across the globe, I won't be visiting Oslo to drink in one of their fine bars soonπŸ™‚ so I can wait.
I thought it might be a gnome-based package thing.

I could not abide by the terms of Mendeley after reading their EULA and test-driving in Budgie so that ship sailed. I read all EULAS..

I love the idea of an open source maps. Next is a hunt for open source translator (engine) and that beast does not exist yet! I digress!

Please use different threads for different issues. Thanks.
