  • How to ignore lid close on Asus Zenbook UX303LA?

Just installed Solus on the aforementioned Asus, have tried "HandleLidSwitch=ignore" in /etc/systemd/logind.conf, tried setting "Wake on lid open" in BIOS to "enabled" and "disabled", also tried this idea but all without success (i.e. wifi disconnects and reconnects on lid open). Also, I'm using TLP (with the Solus defaults) if that makes any difference.

As far as I can tell, it may be something specific to this make/model of laptop. Any ideas?

Reading around a bit it seems that this might be a built-in behaviour to avoid overheating, due to the fan vents being effectively closed off when the lid is closed(!).

This seems to have fixed it:

    sudo systemctl mask sleep.target suspend.target hibernate.target hybrid-sleep.target

UncleSlacky The fan does go wild when I shut the lid, so I think maybe I'll restore the default behaviour!

What desktop environment are you using? I recall Plasma power settings having options for lid close, but not sure about Budgie/GNOME control center.

[deleted] Budgie, there used to be settings on (GNOME) Tweaks that also worked in Budgie, but they were removed a while ago.

nolan Thanks, but that was the first thing I tried, as it had worked on my previous laptop.
