When Budgie switches to Wayland, will we have to switch display managers?

I was looking at jumping into Sway, but realized that it doesn't work with lightdm, so went with i3 instead. But I also use Budgie, and I was wondering whether it will be compatible with the display/login manager when it switches to Wayland, since it seems the reason Sway doesn't work with lightdm is because of Wayland.

hdansin I'm pretty sure sway does work with lightdm

hdansin it work, lightdm can start Wayland sessions or x11 no matter how you cross them, i use to have sway and budgie at the same time and cero problems.

Ah well 🤦 . I guess because it wasn't on the supported list, I thought it wouldn't work. There's also a lot of reports from users having problems with it, but I might just try it and see what happens.

Facundo-c-c Ah nice. Yeah it's working alright for me, but there are a few quirks related to my monitor setup. That, and there is no config at /etc/sway, and the "output" command does not exist.
