this is on my xfce disk. as you see, fast comes with more display info. what's funny is what's included/excluded. They both display info different. memory is tallied different. the flatpak package apps each have a different count which is interesting. For giggles: when I flatpak list
I have 5 apps..they must be counting dep packages and all that platform stuff...Fast considers System font important to display, Neo reports terminal font.
I know all these can be changed in display options.
I did go on a spray paint jaunt in Gimp. Fastfetch
lists all the connected drives and mountpoints with my name on it and path. I was feeling kinda tinfoily maybe.
Speaking of display options.
fast fetch display info:
all in all not as big as neofetch
's by a damn sight:
what fastfetch
does have is a "very unique skillset" (to steal from Liam Neeson). Dig this gsettings stuff, I love it:
a totally cursory review. It doesn't seem--on the surface--anybody needs two fetchers but Neofetch
's stock in trade displaying/listing you hardware/software info. Fastfetch
, on the other hand, has a different set of tools and ambitions. The both make your pretty DE picture when you type their names in. After that they seem like cousins more than siblings.
Keeping them both. More to explore on Fastfetch
. The gsettings
menu blows my mind among others.
