Heya folks! We have a shorter sync cycle this week due to the Solus 4.5 Resilience release, but it's still full of goodies!
First up, a couple of issues with the new XFCE Edition have been fixed. The screensaver application will now be installed by default. Additionally, the keyboard layout settings page will now be populated with settings instead of being blank.
Our Linux kernels have been updated this week by @ReillyBrogan. The current branch was updated to 6.6.11, and the LTS branch to 5.15.146. Reminder to those on the LTS branch to start testing linux-current
to make sure it works for you, because the LTS branch will be updated to the 6.6 series in the future. The sooner we see your reports, the sooner we can make sure they are addressed!
In terms of notable updates, we had Mesa 23.3.3 land, PipeWire 1.0.1, Vim 9.1, Chiaki 2.2, and a smattering of other updates.
We did have a bunch of new packages get added to the repos this week, mostly from returning Solus packager Justin Zobel who decided to return to Solus to help us get to Plasma 6. Gum, kclock, keysmith, and tokodon were all added to the repo by Justin this week. Icestorm and nextpnr, both FPGA tools, were also added by Infinitymdm. Lastly, droidcam was added by Malfisya!
Speaking of Plasma 6, we are now up to 51 out of 71 KDE Frameworks 6 libraries packages on Solus. Additionally, we've updated those libraries to the KDE Frameworks 6 rc1 release. While we still have a LOT to do, we're on track to begin packaging Plasma 6 itself in a separate branch later this week. Stay tuned for more information on how you can help test this once we get a bit further!
When it comes to documentation, readability and comprehensibility are key. To facilitate those, it's a good idea to be consistent. That is why we now have a Style Guide for our Help Center! Compiled by @davidjharder and @deoxys94, this style guide consists of parts from style guides for other projects. While it will take some time for all the existing articles to be updated, this should make our Help Center more consistent.

That’s all for this week, folks! Check back next week for your weekly dose of sync news!
