Zoom also has a tar you can download that should work as well. Go here and in the dropdown choose "Other linux" and make sure 64bit is chosen. Download it, extract it, run it.

I usually go to the dev website and download there and throw it in a directory and make link
Little harder to update things sometimes but a non issue most times.

Just started getting back into flatpaks enlighted myself last nite It was total train wreck flatpak apppimage
even snap (it was total mess would not even install.) even setup the beta site for flatpaks download zoom
it was so old of a beta sheesh. (Even used warehouse and downgraded zoom..lol i was bored)
I can see the good and bad of them now.
Installed zoom tar even tho dont use it started up just fine and no startup crashes.

I'm personally ashamed when I go flatpak list....wish I could use more native stuff instead of flatpak stuff.. But some native stuff doesn't work and some lacking....that said immutable will make all that irrelevant as we will all graze at the Flatpak Farm forever....🙂.
Interesting the targz works....I will remain patient for the Zoom folk to fix their flatpak. I mean I have no problems in flatpak zoom I so don't want to ruin it by changing methods---thanks for your report in Tarball Zoom. Was it as easy as running the .sh script?

Axios the minute I uninstall the flatpak zoom. throw away the appimage zoom, and install this new tarball Zoom...they will have fixed the flatpak so away I go with the tarball. thanks for the info and also thanks @rothom for the confirmation

Great! I’ve dowloaded the tarball and extracted the files, but how do I install the package? Tried “sudo eopkg install zoom” but that didn”t work. Help would be most appreciated.

NewUser2020 I think you double-click the launcher binary. I think this is a standalone app. I could not install anything. In fact I could not even run the damn thing. It wouldn't launch and would insist on opening in chromium instead of standalone mode...which makes no sense...because the web browser zoom always worked..not the standalone.

I went and dug the appimage out of the trash. That works fine.

PS--sudo eopkg install XXX only works for repo packages not stuff you dragged in from the wild. you are on your own with those...although some have a readme/install script. In this case Zoom tarball did not. It just had binaries which leads to believe it can't be installed. Or in my case, not even ran/launched.

You just run zoomLauncher
There is no installer just move the extracted folder where you want it and make a desktop or menu link

Axios for some reason my xdg-portal(?) launch is mapped to chrome and not set to open the zoom binary (first it gors launcher, then it goes zoom proper--both binaries activated) all by itself. this looks like a condition only I have so I will have to dig deeper.

What GPU are people with this issue (still using the flatpak) using?

I tried some other flatpaks (not clapper) and they did not run
Zoom, Haruna media player (Zoom tar worked fine)

with equally dated Intel® Core™ i5-4460 × 4 as cpu.

Run system updates again and this issue should be fixed.
