I encounter some strange issues marking text in mousepad or leafpad when GNOME web is running.
Normally, marking text is smooth and text is marked as soon as you have moved cursor over it (while clicking left mouse button of course). Same when you mark text via keyboard with shift+arrow keys.
But lately I have observed some lagging. Like text gets marked 1 or 2 seconds after you are done moving cursor over it. I have seen this in leafpad and mousepad. There is more lagging in mousepad than in leafpad. Surprisingly no lagging in OpenOffice (which is more heavy on ressources, I guess).
I don't know what's causing the issue here, but I have noticed that lagging stops when I close GNOME Web.
CPU is around 40% and RAM usage 6 of 8 GB when GNOME Web is running (of course depending on how many tabs are open).
And CPU is around 20% and RAM 2,2 GB after I closed it.
I am ready to open an issue in our tracker, but I don't know for what packages or what is causing the issue.
I just think 60% of CPU and 2 spare GB RAM should be enough for marking text.
I am only guessing here but can this also be related to this issue, because I have observed similar behaviour when entering search term in GNOME web url field.
Edit: for the record: Shannon, GNOME, X11
