plutuplutu Hello, My current laptop has no cd burner. The antique previous one has but I'd rather not manually move the data I'd like to burn with it. Is there a way in Linux for the old laptop to grant the use of its cd burner to the other laptop as if it was its own?
Axios plutuplutu You might try this I checked we have nbd in the repo https://superuser.com/questions/316745/how-to-access-a-cd-dvd-drive-over-the-network Just not sure if it would provide write access you would just have to try it. (never used it myself) This might help to https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/119364/how-can-i-mount-a-block-device-from-one-computer-to-another-via-the-network-as-a
WetGeek DISCLAIMER: I've never actually done this, but I use KDEConnect for other similar reasons. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wouldn't do this as well. Although it's from KDE, it's available for non-Plasma DEs as well.
synth-ruiner if the old laptop's drive is removable, you could use it with the new laptop using a USB-SATA adaptor.
